I had a little bit of employment stuff to do this morning, and I was low on groceries, so I headed in to Torrey for breakfast and power for my laptop, maybe even WiFi. I fortunately I found d out that my laptop is apparently in a death spiral, not holding any charge in the battery and the CPU running super slow. I was also just getting a black screen on startup a few times, so definitely nervous about that. Fortunately I was able to dm what I needed to do, thought it took a couple of hours, far longer than it should have.
Breakfast was tasty at the Wild Rabbit Cafe, where I enjoyed a scramble, seasoned potatoes, a donut and hot chocolate. All quite tasty.

The drive to Mesa Verde was estimated at about 5.25 hours, but Apple Maps wasn’t cooperating in getting me to the actual campground, so I used Google Maps. I had to have a little sit-down with Google Maps after the drive. We shan’t be doing that again! It had me going down count try lanes, gravel roads and “Trading Post” roads through the heart of the Ute Mountain reservation.
There were some lovely views along the way to be sure…

I also spontaneously rearranged the fridge and everything else in the RV when a ninja cow launched itself into the middle of the road. Ok, that might be a bit of an exaggeration, but I did have to slam on the breaks when a cow that was calmly grazing along the other side of the road looked up, made uncomfortably direct eye contact, and then proceeded to walk into the middle of the road and stop.

Fortunately he made it across safely, which is more than I can say for the two cows I saw dead in the side of the road within the next 10 miles or so. I had nothing to do with those.
If I had been more on my camera game I would have even more pictures of what is apparently to one of the favorite pastimes in the area – road sign hunting. While these are decent representations, there were some true works of art that I didn’t catch on camera.

Anyway, I made it safely to Mesa Verde and am settling in for the night with a couple of neighbors.

But here is a montage of driving videos for scenery and playlist, sorry I am not yet to the point of editing them together yet.
